Some Things Last Forever - 2005 BNO Words & Music by Jimi
Bertucci - Some Things Last Forever Jimi's poetic flair for writing
love songs comes shining through in Some Things Last Forever.
Anyone and everyone who has ever fallen in love will relate to
this one. As one of the most requested tunes by fans attending
the band's concerts. "Leonardo and Van Gogh would sacrifice
I know and kings would give up thrones to be with you "
WOW. Abraham's Children finally decided to add it as a regular
to their live show set list. Smart move on their part. (GET

HOT LOVE
Going down yonder
Just me and my baby
Gonna have some good hot love
In the summertime
Leave all of my troubles
Forget all my cares
Gonna' have some good hot love in the summertime
Hot love in the summertime
Hot love and I'm feelin' fine
Hot love in the summertime
I've got to get away
Don't believe in working
part time
Got to use for some nickels or dimes
Just want to lay around and have some fun
Got a pretty baby
She's driving me crazy
Gonna' have some good hot love in the summertime
Hot love in the summertime
Hot love and I'm feelin' fine
Hot love in the summertime
Got to get away
Got to get away

MURDER
IN THE OFFICE - For years I had been working out of
my house and was quite content being close to all of the amenities
that I desired. As my business began expanding, the comforts
of my in-house paradise was turning into a crowded store room
for files, lay-outs, accounting, and whatever else was part of
my growing empire. My wife, a strong supporter of my endeavors,
suggested I look in town for some space; It was that time. I
had turned a small business into a company that would require
your typical environment, an office, maybe a secretary, and a
marketing individual that could handle some of my overflow accounts.
I decided I would check out the old part of the city, where character
buildings were hungry for creative tenants. I was determined
not to get a place that shouted "corporate". My search
led me to an old, double-story, brick building in the downtown
district. The next morning...( ORDER

THE MALIBU SERIES... I remember landing in Los Angeles.
It was around 1:30 in the morning and what seemed like an endless
tiring flight. The only person I knew in LA was my agent David
Levine. I called him and got his answering machine, telling me
he was in San Francisco on business and would be returning the
next day. I waved down a cab and asked to be taken to a hotel
near the beach. We arrived at The Palm Hotel, a non-descript
place, in fact it seemed a bit seedy, but I was so tired I didn't
care. I just wanted to hit a bed a get some sleep. The night
clerk was nice and had a thirst for conversation. I quickly told
him I was exhausted and would love to chat with him in the morning.
My room appeared to be decorated by a blind person. I was so
tired I would have slept in a tree. I woke up the next morning
to 83 degree weather. I remember leaving Toronto, it was 9 degrees...yes,
I was in California. I dressed and went downstairs to ask the
clerk where was a good place to get breakfast. He pointed to
a restaurant across the street. I would later find out that this
was a landmark and many musicians and actors dined there regularly.
I had a great and filling breakfast and decided to try and call
David one more time. He answered and was very excited...(read more) |

THE FULL MONTE FILLS IN WITH AC -
When it comes to disciplined musicians, Monte Horton falls into
that unique category. His style is chameleon and colorful, capturing
the feel as if he has lived with this music for years. There
are many good players these days but what makes Mr.Horton stand
out is his blend of smooth pop playing. No stranger to the scene,
he has played with some of the best musicians in Canada. "
I enjoy playing with Monte whenever he is available. He adds
a fresh sound to some pretty old hits ", said Abraham's
Children's founder, Jimi Bertucci. AC have been performing for
over 35 years having put out a string of hit records in the seventies.
The band is in rehearsal preparing to do some more live dates
and some recording. |

Children's Song.........
Children playing everywhere
Not a worry not a care
Chocolate ice cream on their minds
No destruction they could find
As they play they have no time
Fun and games is on their side
One will laugh and one will cry
But they really don't know why
No listening to the clock
ringing in the morning
They're still dreaming their dreams away
Sunlight shining through their window
It's time they work but I mean play
As time goes oh they get
older Throwing away dolls and soldiers
Understanding what to do
Now they look like me and you
No listening to the clock
ringing in the morning
They're still dreaming their dreams away
Sunlight shining through their window
It's time they work but I mean play. |

CRUSHING GRAPES - (cont'd from iUpdate)
The family's TV room also happened
to be young Robert's bedroom and it was not unusual for him to
be up in the middle of the night watching movies with his mom.
She stressed to him the importance of studying some of the greats,
Bogart, Mitchum, Lewis and Martin. The talented boy would sometimes
mimick his family members, portraying them as a dysfunctional
group of characters and causing them to laugh hysterically. This
of course was always done with love. In high school he joined
the Speech & Debate Club where he had the opportunity to
stretch his acting ability by playing multiple characters and
competing with over one hundred schools in the NY state area.
The accolades for young Davi confirmed his direction in the arts.
Later on in his early career Robert's agent, Barry Moss, mentioned
that Frank Sinatra was in town and that they were casting for
"Contract On Cherry Street" at the Columbia offices,
but that Sinatra was using only friends and family for the film.
Robert decided to go to the casting office anyway and, to his
good fortune, was told that not all the parts were cast and was
asked to provide a headshot. (read more) |

Subway 9
1997:BNOS4031 Words & Music by Jimi Bertucci
Recorded at Eis Cafe Studios in Long Beach, California. I love
this song. When we asked Jimi what the song was about he explained.
" My uncle Nazzarano worked for the (TTC) Toronto Transit.
He would tell me all these stories about the characters that
would ride the trains late at night. At times he would be aware
of some of those people that were indecisive about life and new
that some of them would try and jump. Although his English was
not that great he managed to talk many of them out of jumping."
One of the lyrical lines in the song says. Fellini would be proud
of this circus underground." Jimi was very familiar with
riding the tube. If you missed the last train number 9 you were
screwed. Features Mike Cherney on guitars, Dave Valdez on Drums,
Robert Hoelting on keys and backing vocals, Jimi Bertucci bass,
acoustic guitar and vocals.(order

One On One On Radio (cont'd from iUpdate)...an audience
that would remain dedicated to this day. Change has a way of
determining our direction and possibilities, and nothing lasts
forever. He has seen many phases go in and out of style, but
the integrity of his fun-loving personality sustains all stages
of entertaining evolution. We could go on and on how he revolutionized
FM radio by offering the listening ears more than your basic,,
tossed salad, but Marsden is complex and mirrors many facets
as both an artist, and an individual. He is the story teller,
and whether it makes sense or not, you are drawn in and seduced,
surrendering your complete attention to his entrée. This
man's intrinsic airwave intuition has made him in demand and
if you were one of the lucky stations that could afford his talent,
ruled. His appearance at special events would dominate the scene,
as his fans would swarm, to get his autograph or their picture
taken with him.
The young dreamer was not only inhaling these vapors of attention,
he was also beginning to reciprocate the feelings of success,
within a snub-nosed industry, calculated by foreign propaganda.
David mocks the status quo. He believes that if one's platform
is limited, the results will also be hindered. The transformation
of radio has peaked, for now. The cookie-cutter shaped deejays,
that can sometimes be as annoying as telemarketers during dinner,
are trying to spoon feed a sense of mainstream mediocrity. So,
where does David fit in, among all this candy-floss of musical
merry-go-rounds? When I first heard that he was back in the radio
rat race, I couldn't help but display a big smile, and tell my
friends that the Marsbar had landed, making a galactic entrance,
and all our dials must be precisely synchronized to encounter
his schism. The new generation is able to grasp this faceless
monitor, and his tribal messages that allow the young force to
interpret the poetic jargon, within a social context, if there
is any. Here, in Tinsletown, we can often be spoiled, or numbed,
by the on-going themes of personalities. The search for creative,
quality entertainment is of global proportion, and the rewards
are programs that are best suited for the individual's needs.

Backroads Productions'
Paul Gross is doing a session
with John Moran and Peter Rochon- he's currently on the chart
with Abraham's Children's "Goodbye Farewell."
Avenue has temporarily closed
its Los Angeles office.
But Salter said there was no truth in reports that the company's
contract with Abraham's Children had expired. "They are
still under
contract with Avenue. We've spent a fortune working on the group
and either the record for us ir they don't record at all. It's
as simple as that." |

Through the eyes of Vincenzo
The stone house is a memory
of my yesterday
On the wall hangs a picture of a soldier and one of Christ
The ship was large when I came to America
The red brick road was forever gone
I saw no colors I heard no
voices of threat
This was a celebration of the new world
The sadness and joy in the faces of the new world
Through the eyes of Vincenzo
Giants lived in the sky
Through the eyes of Vincenzo
Guns were only in the movies
Through the eyes of Vincenzo
Elvis was alright
I hear the cries
The city of Angels is up in smoke
Uncle Cosmo just retired gold watch and chain
The ship was large when I came to America
The red brick road was forever gone
I was a lover I was a player
of sin
Time can become the beast when your searching
Only a young heart can feel no pain
Through the eyes of Vincenzo
Giants lived in the sky
Through the eyes of Vincenzo
Guns were only in the movies
Through the eyes of Vincenzo
Elvis was alright, alright
The ship was large when I came
to America
The red brick road was forever gone
I saw no colors I heard no
voices of threat
This was a celebration of the new world
The sadness and joy in the faces of the new world
Through the eyes of Vincenzo
Giants lived in the sky
Through the eyes of Vincenzo
Guns were only in the movies
Through the eyes of Vincenzo

1965
It was 1965 I became alive
20.000 voices echoed the Gardens
The heroes performed
Flashes of Kodak lightning blinded our eyes
Some cried out of joy
King Edward was smiling
The trolleys would ring their bells
When they went passing by
They smiled and waved hello hello
Smoked my first in the back seat of a Vauxhall
Couldn't wait to come down
Salvatore admired his Plymouth Savoy
While stealing kisses in the park
Mustang Sally cruised the Yonge Street
If ever a demon on wheels
There was something in the air I was there
A teenage awakening
I'm sure God would agree this time with me
We were immune tomorrows would never come
We howled at the moon from our virgin box
When she touched me my senses ran wild
Cliche poetry of woman and child
And forever seemed to short time
For the brave hearts
All the signs were challenged all the time
There was something in the air I was there a teenage awakening
I'm sure God would agree
There was something I was there no one cared no one saw a thing
There was something in the air I was there a teenage awakening
I'm sure God would agree this time with me Words and Music by
