(cont'd
from) On a recent
tour of the Atlantic Provinces, Abraham's Children pulled capacity
houses and received rave reviews. Brian Dunnine, a reporter for
the St. John's Journal-Pioneer, wrote; " What perhaps sets
this group of young Canadian talent aside, is their friendliness.
They have not acquired the attitudes associated with top recording
artists, that of the mighty visiting the small. Rather, all four
could be described as being average young Canadians, if you could
call producing two hit songs both of which are on local hit parade,
average". According to their manager, Jack Morrow, the group
" is the most dynamic, hard-working band in North America",
and further predicts that they will be " without a doubt,
the hottest act in show business in one year." He also challenges
any other band to match Abraham's Children on the same billing.
That's manager talk-but Morrow's proof of this claim is their
30,000 draw at Toronto's Center Island and another 25,000 at
the Toronto CNE and packed house after house wherever they appear. |

B Jimi B -
BNO-9069
When Jimi started the production
of this album he made sure he had some of the best players on
the session. He recruited Prakash John on bass who is well known
for that famous bass line on Take A Walk On The Wild Side with
Lou Reed. He recorded for many great artists and spent many
years as the bass player for Alice Cooper.Today Prakash has his
own band called The Lincolns. Mike Sloski is perhaps the hottest
studio and live drummers working today. He worked with BB Gabor
for many years. Rob Guseve on keyboards just listen to Wickless
Dynamite and we need say no more. Peter Follett on guitar check
out All American Boy for a classic rock n roll lead. Other guests
include Jody Colero on keys, Kevin Bell guitar, Paul Massey on
that great trumpet line, Cathy Young backing vocals. Engineered
by Steve Vaughan, asst. engineer Paul Massey. Recorded at Masters

Best Of Jimi B - BNO-1020
This is a fun cd full of experiments and songs that have never
been released. When we spoke to Jimi he said this was a great
project to let his hair down. Some funny interviews and comments
about the songs. " There are some cuts that were live in
the studio, when I say live I mean no overdubs just basic bed
tracks." Some of the songs were recorded at Cottingham Studios
a funky place. The engineer was Tom Atom an awesome set of ears.
There are a few familiar cuts on this cd and the fans should
find it entertaining. Call My Number nice sax solo, It's Good
It's Funky But It's White this song is the B side and instrumental.
When Angel recorded the song they had lyrics on the A side. Winning
Side is a great song you can still hear the scratches that were
left on purpose to retain it's original format... This cd features
some great players Recorded in few studios in Toronto and New
York. I like stuff that hasn't been over saturated by self indulgent
over enthused musicians. Jimi said it definitely is not the best
of. Well a little best of. Awesome cd for the connoisseur of
fine music. Kant Gettalon iUpdate |

Jimi
B - Through The Eyes Of
Vincenzo - BNO1022 This is the first cd that mr. B put out since
his move to Cali. Some pretty impressive songs and playing by
his band that included, the late Kelvin Womack on bass and backing
vocals, Vinnie DeFloria on guitar, the late Dave Valdez on drums,
Robert Hoelting on keys and backing vocals, Jimi on vocals, acoustic
guitar, bass and piano. With some additional players. Bob Feldman
on bass, Mike Cherney on guitars, Gregg Fisher guitar. "
Dark Side " was one of the most downloaded songs on mp3
and number one for 19 weeks on stationmp3. Other cuts included
are " Don't Close Your Eyes " "Through The Eyes
of Vincenzo" This is a great effort for Jimi and
should do well. Recorded at Studio 9 Los Angeles, and SRO Studios,
Fontana, California. |

ABRAHAM'S
CHILDREN - Time BNO 3001 This is the only album that AC would release.
This classic piece of Canadiana musical art is still as fresh
today as it was when it was originally released. It is the ultimate
bubble gum trophy. The album put out three hits "Goodbye
Farewell" "Gypsy" and "Thank You" all
these songs charted well and a couple of them went to number
one in many major markets. BNO has remastered this with the help
of Garwood Wallace in Toronto, Canada. The sound is awesome.
This remains to be a big seller and anyone that ever had the
album should definitely get this classic cd. Big strings tight
harmonies and some incredible playing. Although the band was
considered a commercial success, songs like "Workin For
The Man" "Woman O Woman" are as heavy as heavy
can be, do not underestimate the power of pop.n |

ABRAHAM'S CHILDREN
30 - BNO 010905
This album
has it all including the kitchen sink. 30 songs some are classic
some are lost treasures that any collector would give up their
sister to own. There are songs in here I have never heard of
and of course hit after hit. I enjoyed the interview clips and
some of the comments made by, I presume Jimi or one of the band
members. Listen to " Would Mother Approve " a haunting
piece that tells the story of a fan that gets infatuated with
a rock group only to learn her mother does not approve. "
Dreams To Sea " a progressive cut that would make YES spin...
all in all this is worth having if you like to explore the depths
of AC. I can appreciate the ecletic collection of songs. This
is the cd to have. There are a couple of duds on this but overall
it stands the sands of time. Produced by BNOrecordingUSA.n |

NATOPUS - Transition - BNO -1985 This is what some people might call a new
age cd. Well it is. When Jimi first moved to Los Angeles he hooked
up with a musician named Bob Slap. Bob had been working with
Valley Of The Sun a label that specialized in new age
music and self help products. Slap asked Jimi if he would like
to help him with a project,...many albums later. Jimi was asked
by the Dick Sutphen president of the company to produce something
on his own. Natopus was born. This cd has sold extremely well
in Japan over the years. The music was also used in many Lamaze
classes in hospitals in the California area. Not everyones cup
of tea.
You can
listen and download Natopus FREE!!! at BIGMUSIC. Sure is interesting what
Jimi can come up with. Recorded at Horizon Studios in Malibu,
California.n |

you thought poetry was boring, think again! Moving, thought provoking,
sensually erotic, are all words I would use to describe this
newly released selection of writings by Jimi (aka Vincenzo) Bertucci.
Already renowned as a well-respected and gifted songwriter, Bertucci
is adding to his list of artistic writing credits by unveiling
another dimension to his many talents. To say that he dabbles
in poetry writing would be an understatement, instead he fearlessly
plunges head first into those deep and sometimes dark waters.

( Crushing Grapes Cont'd from iUpdate
)...Davi as a movie star. The devout Catholic
walked me down memory lane and through the streets of Brooklyn
where he shared moments to which only an Italian could relate...the
"crushing" ritual of the red & white grapes in
preparation for the holy wine. He described his father as a silent
Sicilian; a Navy gunner awarded the Purple Heart who had once
aspired to be an actor and a singer. "My father was a handsome
man. He looked like Marcello Mastroianni...he made a demo record."
In the forth grade young Robert got his feet wet on the live
stage in the classic play George Washington Slept Here, playing
Sam the black butler. His teacher, Ms. Alexander, was so impressed
that she expressed her sincere admiration for young Davi's talent
and recommended that they encourage him in the arts.
The family's TV room also happened to be young Robert's bedroom
and it was not unusual for him to be up in the middle of the
night watching movies with his mom. She stressed to him the importance
of studying some of the greats, Bogart, Mitchum, Lewis and Martin.
The talented boy would sometimes mimick his family members, portraying
them as a dysfunctional group of characters and causing them
to laugh hysterically. This of course was always done with love.
In high school he joined the Speech & Debate Club where he
had the opportunity to stretch his acting ability by playing
multiple characters and competing with over one hundred schools
in the NY state area. The accolades for young Davi confirmed
his direction in the arts.
Later on in his early career Robert's agent, Barry Moss, mentioned
that Frank Sinatra was in town and that they were casting for
"Contract On Cherry Street" at the Columbia offices,
but that Sinatra was using only friends and family for the film.
Robert decided to go to the casting office anyway and, to his
good fortune, was told that not all the parts were cast and was
asked to provide a headshot. Filled with excitement Robert ran
back to his agent's office for the promo picture and returned
to Columbia. The next day they called him. "It was three
months with Sinatra over the summer and then they flew me out
here to do three more weeks of pick up shots, staying at the
Beverly Hills Hotel," said Davi.
This bigger-than-life bad boy who had studied opera still maintains
his moral values when it comes to selecting projects, which begged
the question; "How does a man with so much dedication towards
his faith perform horrific acts of violence in many of his movies?"
I could see my query had touched a nerve, as a moment of silence
followed before the answer came.
"I didn't start as an actor. I started as a singer. The
roles I play bring me to the public." He continued with
words about spirituality and faith in a well-informed monolog
of truth and curiosity. He expressed his fondness for the rituals
of the Latin mass, for its theatricality and mystery. "My
cousins were cynical. One, in particular, couldn't understand
my blind faith, as he was seeking out everything else. He went
on to explain that there had been many roles he refused to take
because he thought they were too dark. On the other hand, the
acting allows him to do what he really enjoys best, and that
is to sing. "My singing expresses the totality of who I
am," Davi added. I wasn't sure whether he had answered my
question or not, and I wasn't going to backtrack to words long
forgotten. I understood the logic behind Mr. Davi's explanation.
Moving on I asked him about the sixties and if drugs had played
a role at anytime for him during the free love days. "I
always got high on life and I liked girls a lot".
Let's skip to what Davi is doing today. This pop-jazz crooner
is doing just that, performing his latest series of concerts
and receiving accolades for "Davi Sings Sinatra." Quincy
Jones declares Davi to be the reincarnate of "old blue eyes"
right down to the attitude." On the film side, his latest
movie "Iceman" is creating a Hollywood buzz.
Robert Davi is the American dream. A youth determined to succeed
with his fantasy and aspirations of grandieur. Now, in his prime,
this rugged man knows there are no limits to what one can accomplish
as long as he remains focused...his words. I listened to Mr.
Davi sing and you can't help but be drawn in and intoxicated
by his sublime power of hypnosis.

Radio
Tree - Words & Music by Jimi Bertucci - I
sat underneath the Joshua tree, wiping the desert sweat from
my face. The evening sun was settling and the orange layered
skies enjoyed the whispering of the wind. The Mojave Desert has
a certain spiritual atmosphere about it; the giant rocks marvel
at the moon, calling and challenging to be explored. My guitar
resonated with such clarity that I found myself walking in different
areas to capture the ever-changing sounds. I began a pulsing
groove that became embedded in my subconscious. I imagined these
beautiful Yucca brevifolia with branches that were different
types of radios, all having a purpose and playing music that
was shared by the widespread canvas of nature. The preservation
of space and time reflected within my inner soul while I stared
hypnotically at the blanket stars and as the lyrics came to fruition.
I have been to the desert, slept in the sand. How
true this was as I listened to the sounds of the untamed wilderness.
Play it loud play it Lennon under the Radio Tree.
